Tree Removal

How much does tree removal cost in Southeast Wisconsin?

Every tree is different — size, species, location, and site conditions all affect the price. We don’t quote without seeing the tree first, because any number we give you over the phone isn’t worth much. Estimates are always free, there’s no obligation, and you’ll have a firm number before any work begins. Call 262-710-2796 or fill out our quote form.

Every tree is different, so the time required depends on factors like the tree’s size, location, condition, access, and the equipment needed. Some removals can be completed in just a few hours, while larger or more complex projects may take multiple days. During your estimate, we’ll explain the process and provide a realistic timeline for your specific job.

Yes. All logs, brush, and wood chips are removed from your property when we leave.

Yes — that’s exactly where our equipment shines. Our 72-ft tracked spider lift accesses trees in tight spaces next to structures, fences, and utility lines without heavy wheels on your lawn. The Effer 225 Grapple Saw gives us precise control for removals near anything you need to protect.

We use ground protection mats before any equipment enters your yard and our tracked equipment minimizes ground pressure. Tree work is real work in real conditions — we do everything in our power to protect your property. If something does get damaged, the Property Protection Guarantee means we fix it on our dime. Every time.

Yes — it’s almost always more cost-effective to grind the stump on the same visit. Stumps attract carpenter ants and termites, spread fungal disease to nearby healthy trees, and create trip hazards. We offer Grind & Go (grind only, most popular) and Full Restoration (grind, debris removal, and topsoil leveling). Ask when you get your removal quote.

Yes — fully insured with general liability and workers’ compensation on every job. Proof of insurance is automatically included with every quote. You don’t need to ask for it.

Storm Damage & Emergencies

What should I do if a tree falls on my house?

Call our storm emergency line immediately: 262-402-3990. While you wait: stay out of structurally compromised rooms, do not attempt to move the tree yourself, and if there are downed power lines or risk of structural collapse, leave the house and call 911 first.

Yes. Our storm line — 262-402-3990 — is live 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Real people answer. We prioritize roof impacts and structural threats for same-day response.
In most cases, yes — if a tree fell due to a storm and damaged a covered structure. We work directly with your insurance company and submit all documentation on your behalf. On covered jobs, we never require payment upfront.
Removal of a tree that fell in your yard without hitting a covered structure is typically not covered by homeowners insurance. We still provide competitive pricing for storm cleanup jobs — call 262-402-3990 for a quick assessment.
Yes. If downed power lines are involved, we coordinate with We Energies to ensure the area is cleared and confirmed safe before our crew begins work. Never approach downed power lines yourself.

Trimming & Pruning

When is the best time to trim trees in Wisconsin?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. The ideal pruning season depends on the tree species. Some trees can be safely pruned year round, while others should be trimmed during dormancy to promote long term health and reduce the risk of pests and disease. Dead, diseased, or hazardous limbs should be removed promptly regardless of the season.

Yes — significantly. Topping (cutting the main trunk or large branches to stubs) destroys a tree’s structure, creates massive wounds, and triggers weak regrowth. Flush cuts and cuts made at the wrong angle leave wounds the tree can’t close properly, allowing disease and decay to enter. We follow industry-standard pruning practices on every job.

Cost depends on tree size, species, number of trees, and what trimming is needed. We offer free on-site estimates — call 262-710-2796 or fill out our quote form and we’ll come out to assess.

Most mature trees benefit from professional pruning every 3–5 years. Young trees may benefit from structural pruning more frequently in the early years. Fruit trees often need annual pruning. The right interval depends on species, age, and goals — we can advise during your estimate.

Yes. All branches, brush, and wood chips are removed from your property. We don’t leave until the job is done and your yard is clean.

Stump Grinding

How deep do you grind stumps?

We grind 6–8 inches below grade as standard — deep enough to eliminate the visible stump, allow seeding or sodding, and prevent regrowth in most species. If you need deeper grinding for a specific project, let us know.

Grind & Go means we grind the stump and leave the grindings in place — they decompose naturally and the area is ready to seed. Full Restoration means we grind, remove all grindings, and level with topsoil — ready for sod immediately. Full Restoration is the better choice for high-visibility areas or if you want a completely finished look.

Stumps attract carpenter ants and termites, harbor fungal disease that spreads to nearby trees, create trip hazards, kill surrounding grass, and allow roots to continue growing underground — potentially damaging foundations and utilities. The sooner you remove it, the fewer problems it causes.

Yes. We regularly grind stumps near homes, fences, patios, sidewalks, and landscaping. To protect surrounding structures, we typically grind to within 3 to 5 inches of hard surfaces. If the stump is surrounded by decorative rock, gravel, edging, or other landscape materials, please clear a 5 foot radius around the stump before we arrive. Be sure to let us know about any private underground utilities, such as sprinkler systems, invisible dog fences, drain tile, or landscape lighting, as these are not marked by Diggers Hotline and can be damaged during the grinding process.

Cost depends on stump diameter, species, accessibility, and whether you choose Grind & Go or Full Restoration. We offer free on-site estimates — call 262-710-2796 or fill out our quote form.

You can rake them level, use them as garden mulch, or seed right over them.
