Free Wood
Chip Drop.

We chip dozens of trees every week across Southeast Wisconsin. Instead of sending that organic material to a disposal site, we’d rather put it back into the earth — and your property. If you can use fresh wood chips for mulch, landscaping, or garden paths, we’ll drop them for free when our trucks are in your area.

How It Works

It's Free. No Catch.

We chip a lot of trees every day across Southeast Wisconsin. Rather than hauling that organic material to a disposal site, we'd rather put it back into the earth where it belongs. Fresh wood chips break down naturally, feed the soil, and return nutrients to the ground — the same way a forest floor works.

You get free organic mulch for your property. We keep it out of a landfill. That's a win for everybody.

Proof of Insurance Included

Each load is 10 to 15 cubic yards of fresh wood chips — that’s a big pile, roughly the size of a full-size pickup truck bed times five. Make sure you have a spot that can actually handle that volume before you sign up.

  • We only drop when the chip truck is full after a job
  • We call or text before we show up — no surprise drops
  • We cannot schedule a specific date or time in advance
  • We’ll reach out when we’re working in your area
  • Multiple loads can be arranged if you need more
  • Dump spot must be accessible from a hard surface— driveway, alley, paved or gravel pad. Our chip trucks are heavy equipment. We cannot drive through grass, soft ground, or yards. If your dump spot requires us to leave a hard surface, we cannot complete the drop.
Important — Read Before Signing Up
  • No advance scheduling. We do not schedule chip drops in advance. When our crews are in your area and the truck is full, we’ll reach out. If you’re available, we drop. This is a free service on our schedule — not yours.
  • Hard surface access required. Our chip trucks are large, heavy vehicles. The dump spot must be accessible directly from a driveway, alley, or hard/gravel surface. We cannot drive across your lawn, soft ground, or yard. If we cannot reach the dump spot from a hard surface, we will not be able to complete the drop.
  • Once dropped, they’re yours. By signing up you agree that once chips are dumped at your designated location, they are your responsibility. We will not return to move, haul, or do anything further with the chips after the drop is complete.

What Are the Chips Good For?

Fresh wood chips are excellent for garden paths, around trees and shrubs, vegetable garden walkways, natural play areas, erosion control on slopes, and decorative landscaping. They break down over time and improve soil. Many homeowners request multiple loads per year.

What Kind of Chips?

100% organic material — fresh-ground wood chips from the trees we removed that day. We run several jobs daily across Southeast Wisconsin, chipping various species as we go. Because every load comes from whatever we worked on that day, we cannot guarantee the species, mix, or composition of any given load. Expect a natural blend of hardwoods and softwoods, mixed chip sizes, and possibly some leaf or bark material depending on the time of year. Nothing is colored, treated, or chemically processed in any way — just raw organic material going back into the earth.

Free Chip Drop FAQ

How much is a load of chips?
Each load is 10 to 15 cubic yards — a large amount. That’s roughly the equivalent of 5 full pickup truck beds. Make sure you have a spot that can handle that volume before signing up. It’s a big pile.
No — and this is important. We cannot schedule chip drops in advance. Chips are available when our chip truck is full after a job in your area. When that happens and we have your address on file, we’ll call or text to see if you’re still interested. If you need chips on a specific date, this program isn’t the right fit.
We’ll call or text the phone number you provide on the form. We’ll always reach out before we show up — we won’t drop chips without confirming you’re ready for them.
We operate throughout Southeast Wisconsin — Waukesha, Milwaukee, and Racine counties. Chip drops are limited to areas where we’re actively running jobs. If you’re in a city we serve, you’re likely eligible, though there’s no guarantee of frequency.
100% organic material — fresh wood chips from the trees we removed that day. We run several jobs daily across Southeast Wisconsin and chip various species as we go, so we cannot guarantee the species mix or exact composition of any given load. You’ll get a natural blend of whatever we worked on — could be oak, maple, ash, cottonwood, or a mix of several species. Chip sizes will vary. There may be leaf or bark material in the mix depending on the season. Nothing is treated, colored, or processed in any way. It’s raw organic material that will break down naturally and feed your soil over time.
Yes — just let us know how many loads you need on the form. We’ll keep dropping when we’re in your area until you tell us you’re good. Some customers request 5+ loads per season.
Once chips are dumped at your designated location, they are your responsibility. We will not return to pick them up, move them, or haul them away. Please make sure you actually want a 10–15 yard pile of wood chips and have a plan for them before you sign up. If you need to be removed from the list before a drop happens, just call us at 262-710-2796.

Yes. We’re careful about surrounding structures and landscaping and will adjust our approach to protect them. Let us know about any concerns when we come out for the estimate.
